Montrose Beach is one of my most favourite beaches on the north east coast of Scotland. I have been visiting this beach since I was a child. Easy to walk or drive too from the centre of Montrose. Ample parking near the beach, toilet facilities available but limited depending on the time of year you go.

Montrose may not be as pretty as say Stonehaven up the road but it is a working NE town with a proud tradition which has a lot to offer, not least the beach and the the lagoon which attracts many a migrating bird. Also a great spot to explore the surrounding area from. Would always recommend. Recent discussions with Angus Council, Montrose Port Authority (MPA) and Marine Scotland have looked at changing the depositing of dredged material at Lunan Bay from the port to the coastal zone adjacent to Montrose Beach.
